Missouri facilities are licensed by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS), Section for Long-Term Care Regulation. Missouri licenses a three-tier system under Chapter 198 RSMo and 19 CSR 30-86: Residential Care Facility I (RCF I) for the lowest acuity, Residential Care Facility II (RCF II) for moderate acuity, and Assisted Living Facility (ALF) for the highest acuity of the three non-skilled categories.
